Starting to Pull Out the Green

I have a quick, small project for you today. This weekend was super busy and I didn't get a chance to touch anything in my studio the last couple of days!

 

I already did a bunch of hearts bookmarks so I thought I'd try for St. Patrick's images this time. The stamp is from Storage Units, Inc. It's stamped with Memento tuxedo ink and colored with a crimson red prismacolor marker and spica pens.

Super simple but I really like how these turned out, I even snagged one for myself rather than uploading them all into my store!

Update on Meg's project ~ it's finished and ready to be passed in tomorrow. I plan on taking pictures in the morning and I will show you the timeline masterpiece tomorrow.

Frolicking Leprechauns

I'm a couple of days late with this but I think its cute so we're extending St. Patrick's Day for a little while longer.

I got this cute little bucket from the Target dollar spot and just had to get one (notice I said only one - it was a frugal day for me, usually I pick up a minimum of five when I get the Target buckets).

The bucket is flled with floral foam and then covered with green "grass", otherwise known as shredded paper.

I picked up the sparkly shamrocks at Michael's. I already had the bucket at that time and figured the shamrocks would come in handy.

The little boy/leprechaun is from Storage Units Ink. They are stamped with palette noir ink and colored with copic markers. I then cut them out and glued them onto lollipop sticks.

To finish is off, I threw some foam shamrocks among the grass to make it a mini field of shamrocks.

Here is a close up of the little leprechauns. This is a super cute set and every time I ink up these stamps, I am so pleased with how they take ink. These are much better quality than some of the clear stamps out there. If you are on the fence, try one set like I did and I bet you will be pleased. I've been tempted by the Easter set but I'm trying to watch my spending so I've been holding off.

March Madness is in full swing and Uconn is off to a rollicking start. GO HUSKIES!!

Shamrocks and Polka Dots

Good thing all has been quiet between me and the kids' teachers this month. I had yet to make my monthly notecards. I made these just in time since I have notes that have to go in and now I have something seasonal AND pretty to write them on!

When I made my polka dotted card for the CAS challenge last week, someone had commented that the design would work good for stationery. This got me thinking about my notecards for the month.

So I cleaned the red off my polka dots from Papertrey and stamped them with Glorious Green (SU). The shamrock (Storage Units Ink) is also stamped with glorious green. The shamrock layer and the green circle layer both have mounting tape on them - I wanted to go for a bit of dimension with this one.

Some sets of notecards take longer than others but this month these are truly a 5 minute job. Within 30 minutes, you could easily have a whole set of these. What a wonderful gift to give to someone who likes to write little notes or for teachers who are always writing notes. A set of these with envelopes fit nicely into the Papertrey clear boxes and look so nice and neat when all packaged up. I think I'm onto the start of the year end teacher's gifts with this idea - its never too early to start thinking year end gifts!

A CAS Rainbow

I am really enjoying the CAS challenges over at Splitcoast. This week the challenge was a sketch.

  Here is my final go at the challenge. Although I did like the sketch so I will definitely be using it again.

For this card, I used new stamps that I got from Storage Units, Ink & More. I have never used these stamps before but this little St. Patrick's set was adorable so I gave them a go. These are polymer stamps of very good quality. Like most of my good quality polymer stamps, I need to do one initial stamp off on scrap paper and then I get great images. These ran true to form. After that first image to get the ink on the stamp, these inked up very nicely.

The image is colored with various prismacolor and copic markers and the gold has a bit of gold spica pen to make it sparkle. The paper is from Reminisce.
