Buttons and Cake

Some of the most recent Stamping Boutique releases are Candyland themed and she had a fun set of contests using some new digi stamps. My computer was acting funny but I was able to snag one and play along for a little while.

The challenge was to use the image with three buttons, two embellishments and one ribbon and this is the final design I came up with.

The cake is colored with copic and prismacolor markersl. The bow is done using a sakura gelly roll glitter pen. The color scheme was built around this ribbon and because I wanted to go with a bigger size, I made this card an A6 size rather than my normal A2.

Allergy season finally caught up with me so I'm fighting with that this weekend. I hope you are all staying well ~ have a great day!

Sparkling Gold at the End of the Rainbow

What a glorious day - it is incredible what a little sunshine can do for you! I am even okay with the time change as long as I can see the sun! Since tomorrow is my challenge day, I thought I would do my St. Patrick's card today.

This is a digi image from Stamping Boutique that was part of our 50/50 group free digi images for March.

I started out with printing off the image and coloring it was prismacolor and copic markers.

Copic: B32, Y19, YR16, R35, G28, BV13       Prismacolor: cool grey 60%, goldenrod

I also used some spica pens for sparkle: lemon (05) and olive (07).

I wasn't sure where to go with the card from there so I decided to create a glitter background trying to duplicate the colors I used in the rainbow. Most of the glitter I used was from Art Institute Glitter: taffeta, flamingo, pumpkin and tangarine. I'm not sure where the blue glitter is from.

Now I sparkle and so does my card (have you perfected the art of using glitter without it ending up all over you?? I certainly haven't.).  I am having lots of fun with the glitter background stripes - I think I may have to experiment with more colors.

Easter Fairy

Good morning on this slightly snowy morning! I have been fighting a combination sinus/tension headacke the last several days so blogging was low on my priorities list! But I'm feeling pretty good today so it's back to visiting with you!

I did do a little coloring over the weekend and today's card uses a new company for me, The Stamping Boutique. This image was part of this month's Special 50/50 release and I snagged it as soon as I saw it!

 

This card has a LOT of coloring so the design is pretty simple overall. It's dark here this morning so click on the pic to see it better - there's lots of spica sparkle there!

This digi image was printed and colored with copic markers.

Copics: V12, V15, V17, E35, E37, E00, G05, G09, B23, BV13, BV11, RV21, RV23

I added sparkle with the following spica pens: sky blue(10), lavender (01), lilac (13) and pink.

The patterned paper in the background is from Papertrey Ink.
