Cards, Cards, Cards

Yeah, it's Saturday! I'm going to try posting with pictures again today. I'm hoping Typepad will be a bit more accomodating. This week the kids have been out of school and we've been out of the house a lot. Or if we are home, I'm not getting any studio time so my stamping this week has been minimal. But never fear, I have some pen pal cards to share.

I'm trying these pictures smaller today to see if that will make a difference. This card is from Rita. She just had her first baby in December and she's been great at corresponding since. I'm very impressed. I was not on the ball at all when Meg was first born!

This fantastic card is from Debbie. She always does great things and I love getting mail from her. I really like how she did the ribbon here and will definitely have to give that a try. And its Papertrey and you know how much I like Papertrey!

This card is from Julie. I remember seeing it on her blog so it was a lot of fun to see it in person. This is from a SCS sketch, I believe. I haven't tried this sketch yet but its a really neat one. It's on my (ever growing) list of things I want to try.

Hope you have a fantastic Saturday. It's hot and humid here but between the air conditioning and sending the kids into the slip and sllide, we should do okay. See you tomorrow with a sweet treat.

Eye Candy From Others

Today I get to show you some of the fun mail I got last month. I just stuck my hand in the pile and pulled out a few cards.

This fun card came from Paige. I really like the way she created the flowers and the colors are so cheerful looking to me.

I got this cute Easter card from Bonnie. I like the cute image, the doodling around the edges of the blocks as well as the overall design. This one made me smile.

And last, but certainly not least, here is a card I received from Lisa. This color combo is one of my favorites. There is something so right about these colors together. I also really like the glitter window. I've never tried that before but I want to after getting this card.

And that's a little peek into my mailbox. So today was a bit better at our house. We sent Conor to his grandparents for the day since Meg woke up with her fever. She took it really easy today (books and TV and no little brother) and I think, fingers crossed, the fever may have broken! I'm thinking healthy thoughts and hopefully we can all enjoy the rest of our spring break.

Stamp Pals are the Best

I have a lot of stamping pen pals and they are the best. I love getting mail and having a chance to send cards to people I know will appreciate the time and effort that goes into making your own cards. I get too many to show all of them here but I thought I'd start picking a couple at random every month to show some of my fun mail. Today's cards are from Tara and Sarah.

Every card I receive has something in it that can inspire me. I love how the shamrock was made with the hearts along with the gold cord stem. As soon as I opened this one up, it made me smile.

What strikes me about this card is the fun layout. Long cards are a lot of fun but I always seem to do the same old design with them. I am definitely going to try this with the gate-fold opening and the use of patterned paper. What's great is that you can use a larger design on the paper but because there is such a large area of paper, you don't lose something like you do with the smaller blocks. I just got some paper that I think would go great with this and want to give it a go.

These are only two of the fantastic cards I received last month. I am definitely going to keep showing more because I have such a talented group of pen pals!

Cold and windy here today. Are you sure it's the start of spring? I'm thinking Easter will be on the mite chilly side!

An awesome BRAK

If you were to ask me how I'm doing, I'd say I'm knee deep in kid's Valentines. Lucky for you I received a truly wonderful BRAK from Megan that will have to suffice for eye candy today.

I had a post all planned last night but dh took over the computer during my usual surfing time so I'm here this morning instead. I wanted to show off this great card and blog candy I won from Maria.

Isn't this card fun? I'm a fan of the black, white and pink color combo so this jumped out at me right away.

Meg has her eye on the scrapbook stuff but she told me she'd let me have the stamps and ribbon. Nice of her, huh?

I've got some things I'm working on and hope to be back on later. Conor has been sick the last several days so my time has been limited to a degree. Have a great day!
