Quick Thank You's

I've come to realize that making thank you notes for Meg and Conor to send should be a quick and easy process and to keep things simple. For Conor's recent birthday party, I drew upon a digi stamp to make the process very quick and easy.

The digi stamp is from Bugaboo. I worked out the layer size in Word and was able to add the stamp right where I wanted it placed. Print and do some paper cutter magic with a quick black layer and I was good to go.

I decided to print these on a light colored cardstock so I wouldn't have to color the image, thus saving oodles of time.

They are all written and sent so now I can close the books on yet another party. Of course he's already trying to decide what to do for next year!

Magical Birthday

It's time for Conor's birthday and I've finally got his birthday invitations made and sent out. He likes magic (probably due to his sister's obsession with Harry Potter these last few years) so I drew heavily on that for his invites.

This fun image is a digi stamp from Bugaboo. My wizard is colored with copic and prismacolor markers and sponged with a little distress ink.

The sentiment is from Verve and the little stars behind the sentiment are from Papertrey. The dies for the sentiment layer are also from Papertrey.

Can you believe it's May already? I've got another couple of crazy weeks and then I might be able to breathe again. I think most of my crafting projects are done because I HAVE to make it rather than just getting around to puttering around in my studio. Ah well, what I should be doing is cleaning my studio. After several weeks of last minute projects, it looks like a hurricane blew through (and you all know how much I "love" to re-organize my stuff!)

Red Tulip and Ladybug

I am determined to see flowers, even if it's just on my own blog! I went bright with this tulip so I could get a springy feel and combined that with the red and white combo to make it simple and crisp.

I just got a new lens to play with so here's a close up.

So, we're supposed to get snow tonight. I'm going with the theory that it's all an April Fool's joke.  I figure even Mother Nature needs to play tricks too.

A Magical Break from Christmas

Phew - survived the gusty winds, lost internet access and got poured on at exactly the time the kids got out of school.  But everything seems to have calmed down now so I can relax just a bit.

I recently ordered the Harry Potter digi's from Bugaboo and just had to try creating with at least one. Of course, you HP purists will tell my I have the wrong color hair for Harry (Meg did as soon as she saw it), but I like it.

He's colored with a combination of copic and prismacolor markers and I thought this embossing folder worked well with the starts on his hat.

There are lots more characters to the set but I need to buckle down for Christmas so the wizarding world may have to wait.

Funky Flower Mini's

Mini cards (3 x 3's) have kept me bust lately. I'm having so much fun creating them and plan on using them often with gift bags or boxes as well as adding the extras to my store. This time around I decided to play around with the funky flowers from Bugaboo Stamps.

These stamps are digital so I can size them any way I choose. I made them small enough for the mini's and then had some fun coloring.

Fun Flowers Birthday

Happy Cinco de Mayo! I don't have anything created specifically for the day but I do have bright and fun flowers for you.

The flowers are a fun digital stamp from Bugaboo that was printed and colored with copics.

The sentiment is from Papertrey (who else!) and stamped with SU dusty durango ink. The extra sparkle was provided by the fire opal Swarovski crystals.

I went back and forth on the layout but I decided to break out the nesties and go with that style for a little bit of a change.

I have not been in the studio all week what with having a sick kid, a kid with a cavity that needed filling and just volunteering in the school. Tomorrow, I've promised myself a bit of "me time" just to have a bit of fun. Hope you get some me time too!

Bright Orange Bunny

The new digi stamps have been released at the 50/50 digital stamping group and I've already put one to good use!

This adorable bunny and egg image comes from Bugaboo stamps. I thought these would make adorable little cards for Easter baskets so I made up a bunch and put them in my store.

The bunny is colored with copic markers and I used a deckle edged rectangle die from Spellbinders to make the mini card base. This one measures 3 x 3 ~ the biggest die is a perfect 3 x 6 inch size.

Beautiful weather here today ~ we're hoping to get the kids outside to the local park and take a little hike, maybe take some pictures. Most of all, we just need the fresh air! Hope you have a great day!

Meet Ruby

The digital stamping world is an exciting place as this new year approaches. The advent of digital has allowed so many more wonderful artists to be able to share their drawings. One recent example of that is Jodie from Bugaboo stamps. Her stamps are fun and playful, sarcastic and witty or just plain cute. I really liked what I saw of the Ruby stamps so I bought a couple. The stamps were easy to download and unzip and are nicely defined drawings when you go to print them out. Here is my first offering - meet Miss November Ruby.

 

I thought she would carry over well into a winter theme and would be perfect to offer chilly greetings this winter. She is printed on a hp laserjet printer and colored with copic and prismacolor markers.

Her coat and cuffs needed something extra so I added clear stickles. There are arctic ice stickles under feet. (kind of the color of my face after being outside here for any longer than three minutes at a time - brrr).

That paper is from Papertrey Ink. This is the original use for the paper before I went nuts with it and my heart nestie (yesterdays card). The sentiment is also from Papertrey and stamped with Memento paris dusk ink.

And today officially ends the winter vacation. I have to say I'm a bit torn. I've enjoyed the lack of schedule and the easygoing mornings. I've enjoyed not having to hound the kids to get dressed or eat or get out the door. But then I've also realized that we are now officially all sniping at each other. There truly is such a thing as too much togetherness and that everybody going back to their routine is not such a bad thing either.

Oops, the kids are arguing. Okay, now the scales are tipping in the favor of back to school rather than staying home any longer! Have a great night!
