When You Need a Note (or Two)

September is flying by and I've yet to get into my back to school work groove. I saw glimmers of a schedule this week but it hasn't quite gotten there yet. I have hope that I'll pull it together by October.

You know I like to write notes and I really like flat notecards for school notes, thank you notes and many other occasions. Today I have three recent designs.

I have been itching to pull out this pen stamp from Papertrey and finally got it inky.

I've only done these in black and white so far but I want other colors. Must make some purple for myself!

Mo needed some thank you notes and I always seem to pull out tree stamps for him.

Much better picture than above! As I was editing these, I realized these would make a lovely autumn note card - now I HAVE to make these in orange/red tones.

I went nuts with this anchor fronm Stampin' Up making a variety of simple projects - could be used as a set maybe in my store.

New Bookmarks

The kids are reading up a storm here so I thought there may be others reading too and why not make more bookmarks for the online store?

I've got three designs but only have pictures for two. For the life of me, I can't get a good picture (or adequately edit) the third.

First off, let's talk dragonflies.

I think this dragonfly is from Gina K.

For the next one, I have this fun anchor from Stampin' Up so even though I already sell anchor bookmarks, I needed to make some with this stamp.

So that's all I have for today - Meg and I are embarking on a journey of art journaling so I may have pages for you to come (remembering always that I'l a little too simple and 'neat' for truly inspired art journaling, mine is more along simple scrapbooking but that's okay, as long as it makes me happy. :)

Summer Color Invites

I recently finished up an order for a client who wanted invitations with a summery color vibe. So I turned to my newest favorite place for inspiration, Pinterest. The day after my client consult, this color scheme was pinned by someone and I immediately fell in love with the combination and knew I wanted those colors.

I took a bit of license with the shades of the colors and my client wanted a deep purple base so I added that in for the base color but here's the final result...

The abstract image is from Papertrey and I went with a peach and a bright pink for that. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up and is a turquoise. My client wanted a bit of sparkle somewhere in the invite, so I added a small rhinestone in the green shade to complete the colors.

This is actually a flat A2 size and I printed off the party info and adhered it to the backside of the notecard.

Overall, I was really happy with the final result - totally different than what we created for her party last year and keeping with the fun, bright theme.

Gift Card Birthday Card

Happy September! It seems like the blog vacation I took in August carried over to September! It seems one of the easiest birthday gifts to give is a gift card so I've been looking for an easy card design to use to "gift" them.

Some templates are so convoluted and take too much time and effort but I've finally found one that is quick and easy. I've lost the link to the original designer - I apologize - I will add a link when I find the blog again. (And if you know who it is, feel free to leave me a message and I will add the link).

The card us a bit smaller (uses an A1 envelope) but the gift card fits nicely inside so it's worth it.

The stamp is from Papertrey, as is the patterned paper.

Here's a quick look at the inside.

The template calls for adding velcro for a closure but I just worked the score line pretty well and the card stayed closed on it's own so I'm thinking of skipping the whole velcro thing.

I like this blue base - this paper set from Papertrey has a bunch of other colors that I think will work well with the blue - I think I need to make a variety of these!
