Sleepover Invites

Back from vacation and back to reality!

The beginning of my August was taken up with working on invites for Meg's birthday party. This year she is going with the sleepover. I looked high and low trying to decide on what to do and yes, I went with the harder and more time intensive project!

After considering all our options, the final design was a 3-D sleeping girl layout.

First I needed to design the sleeping bag/bed. I looked all over the internet for matchbook templates. Once I found a bunch, it was then trial and error to see which sizes would fit where. The bed is a large template while the pillow is a small template.

(I used all Stampin' Up patterned paper for these designs.)

Once the templates were decided upon, I needed to find a girl image that would fit just right. I ended up taking an image from The Greeting Farm. She's a full length stamp but I only stamped the top of her. She's colored with copic markers and I cut away her braid so I could put that outside the "covers".

The last logistics problem was how to get the info. I attached a small cardstock square to the girl that you don't see until the box is opened which has the basic "It's a Sleepover" title on in. I then printed out details on a piece of paper which I folded up and put inside the box.

And now I can gladly say the invites are done and delivered. Now we just have to get through the party!

Pink Cross

I'm really pulling out some old stuff that I haven't showed you.

When I was working on a First Communion card for Conor for my mom to give him, I made desgins in blue and green. Weeks later I decided I really should have one in pink too.

 The image and sentiment are from Raisin Boat.

Bundle of Joy

I seem to have taken an unscheduled blog vacation this August. Remember when my creative mojo went out the window last month? It seems like the writing one has too. I have been creating (a bit) but haven't gotten them online. I've decided that I'm not going to worry about it. I'm taking another week to chill with maybe a couple of post here and there and as school revs up, so will I.

Hopefully, you'll stay with me :)

Here's a quick A1 card I made recently.

The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and I pulled out my buttons which look real pretty in their jars but don't get used nearly often enough.

This is also the first time I played around with the card edger dies from Papertrey. Like them! Like them a lot.

Thank You Flowers

Wow, I just realized that it's been a few days since I last posted. I have fun stuff to show you but I've been preoccupied with making Meg's birthday invitations. I FINALLY have the idea. FINALLY have the templates needed the the invite designed.....now I just needed to finish making them. They're in progress but hope to have them done by the weekend.

Today though I have a quick thank you card to show instead.

The blue and brown theme is a favorite of mine - it's the brown that draws me in every time.

The flowers are from Gina K and the sentiment from Papertrey Ink.

And now it's back to the invite production line......
