Quick One For Today

We have had a full day here celebrating Conor's First Communion and his birthday with family all day. It was a wonderful day but it left little time for stamping so today I have a very quick repeat of a design, just in another color.

I originally made this card in purple but felt other colors would work well too. So far, the only other color I've gotten to is blue.

These stamps are from Our Daily Bread and this one was stamped in pacific point ink from Stampin Up.

I'm gearing up for another busy day tomorrow so I'm off to get some sleep. Have a great night!

Swirly Crosses

We are getting ready here for Conor's First Communion so my focus has been on those holidays. I like the versatility of today's card design. It could go for First Communion as well as baptism or confirmation.

These stamps are from Raisin Boat ~ one of their newer releases. As soon as they released it, I bought one since I knew I'd have these events coming up. This version is done up in Marina Mist ink.

This one is done in wasabi, same layout.

Spent my day grocery shopping, cooking and shuttling kids around. Good thing I already has these made up for tomorrow since there was no stamping on my schedule today!

Today it's Orange for Mom

I'm back again with another card for Mom.

These cute flowers are from Taylored Expressions. They are colored with copic markers and I added small rhinestones in the center of the orange flowers for a bit of sparkle.

I'm blanking out on who the sentiment is from. I'll have to go back and check on that.

Check in on Conor's cards: coloring is FINALLY finished. I'm now working on the inside info ~ that's it ~ remind next time to send evites for my kids' parties!

Blue Flowers for Mom

Now that Easter has ended, my focus has been Mother's Day (with a smattering of First Communion cards). Today and tomorrow, it's all about mom.

Sweet and simple ~ the flowers are from Verve and the sentiment is from Papertrey.

Working on Conor's birthday party invitations ~ every year I make some that are time intensive and every year, I say I won't do that again. Do I learn? Nope. I've been busy coloring the last couple of days....I may have them ready by next week!

Easter Bunnies

For those that celebrate, wishing you a wonderful Easter.

I made up some cards for the kids to go with the presents we gave them for Easter ~ here's a quick peek.

This cute little bunny is from Taylored Expressions  and he's colored with copic markers.

Since I wanted to make them just slightly different for the two, I changed out the embossing folder. These are A1 ~ I didn't really need anything bigger than that for the kids.

Back to reality tomorrow. Holidays and April vacation are over ~ I have some stamping plans though so here's hoping for some new stuff!

Silhouette GIrl

As it's Easter weekend here, I have two days of Easter cards for you. I've been wanting to use this silhouette image for ages now and fianlly inked it up.

Believe it or not, this is rose red ~ it's looking very bright to me, not sure what you see.

The stamps are all Stampin' Up.  The girl is stamped in rose red and the sentiment in espresso.

This is the first time I've tried out my tulips embossing folder too. I've seen so many great cards with it in the SCS gallery that I just had to place it on my last order.

Had an Easter Saturday dinner here at the house tonight - tried out a couple of new recipes - I'll have to blog about them soon on the lollipop blog!

Flowered Cross

Happy Friday! Since today is Good Friday, I decided it would be a good day for a card with a cross.

I just found a new digital stamp company (well, at least new to me) and my ordering finger had to try out a few. The image is a digi stamp from Just Inklined.

The image was colored with various copic markers.

The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions ~ I thought it went nicely with the image.

Quiet day here after a crazy busy April vacation. I think the kids needed a day of nothing ~ I know I did.

The Card That Maimed Me

Alright, so maim is a pretty strong word but it has sure felt like it every time I try to bend my finger. Luckily, it's on the mend.

Yep, that strip of orange card stock was the culprit.

Pretty self explanatory. The flowers are a studio g Michael's stamp and the sentiment is from Papertrey. I pulled out my Memento potter's clay ink for this one.

Those clear stamps make sentiments fun. This is a straight stamp but they are easy to manipulate so I decided to curve it to flow with my oval layer.

Wishing You Flowers

In getting a gift together for a wedding shower, one of the fun things for me is to make the card. I usually take the shower invite and try to match the colors to whatever design I decide upon. Today's card comes from a shower I went to a couple of weeks ago.

As soon as I saw the blues and greens in the invite, I knew exactly what shades of card stock I would pull out. This was classic garden green and night of navy.

I love making blue flowers so that was an easy call on image design. And I always like the generation stamping look for flowers.....I guess I'm getting predictable!

The flower stamps are from Stampin' Up and the sentiment I think is from Verve.

I have to say that the blue and green are a nice color combination ~ and would work with lots of images besides flowers.

My stamping time took a hit as I had an unfortunate paper cutter incident. No matter what they say about the guillotines not cutting you. If your knuckle is in the way and you really slam down the arm, you will get a really nice gash. Who knew our fingers are bent for pretty much everything we attempt to do??????? Hopefully, I'll heal fast!

Blue Cupcake

There is nothing like having an event to make a card for that gets me motivated to use new products. I have had the GIANT Papertrey cupcake die for a little while but was almost intimidated by it so there it sat in my pile of dies.

Meg went to a birthday party this weekend and I thought it would be fun to make a cupcake shaped card so out came the die.

There was a bit of trial and error on my part and I, of course, waited until the last minute so I had to make it simple but I thought it came out cute.  And who are we kidding.....I could have had three weeks to make this card and it would still have been simple!

The polka dot paper is also from Papertrey although I think this is marina mist card stock from Stampin' Up. It was almost too simple for even me before I added the sparkly flower. As soon as I did that, I was ready to call it complete.

It's been slim stampin' days this week. Lots of errands and the spring craziness has arrived so I'm running all over with the kids. I'm hoping for a bit of me time in the next couple of days though ~ I'm hoping to be back soon with something new.
