Happy Wednesday!! I'm basking in the unseasonably warm temperature's today. I need to make the most of it because its back to freezing with us tomorrow. But for today.......
I am declaring this week Valentine's week because I have cards and projects for the holiday all week long. This is another card that uses recycled paper/cardstock so I'm feeling all proud of myself for not wasting.
This heart is actually the cutout from my iris folded heart a couple of weeks ago. Many times I cut out the image and don't know what to do with the leftover shape. I had some vague notion of letting the kids use the hearts but I snagged them for myself instead.
I stamped the image (isn't it a great one from Beeswax) in chocolate chip and cut the shape out from my nesties. This was layered on chocolate cardstock and the argyle cuttlebugged heart. By making these cards, I used up my awesome satin polka dots ribbon from Papertrey but the 15th is coming soon and Mo owes me a Valentine present so my shopping fingers are ready! The final element is the patterned paper from DCWV (single sheets, not from a pad).
A couple of my Kota's pen pals were wondering about my nesties and cutting out already stamped shapes so here are some quick pictures.
Here is the stamped image on a block of ivory cardstock.
I then place the die over the image and use plain old scotch tape to attach the die to the cardstock. The arrow is pointing to the corner where the tape is attached to the cardstock.
I have to say that 99% of the time the tape does not rip the cardstock when I unattach the die from the paper. And even if it did, that is the piece that is being thrown away, it is NOT the die cut piece so using this tape works just fine for me.
And here is the final cut out piece. This image actually finishes just as the embossing starts although the picture did not pick that up.
I really like being able to stamp and then cut as I am not the best eyeballer when the stamping has to come second.
And that is the secret, not such a big secret after all.
Hope your day is going well. I spent the last 90 minutes coloring monkey's for Conor's valentines. I'm taking a much needed break before I finish the project up. Have a great afternoon!
super pretty waht a great way to showcase that stamp!
