If you are a regular reader of my blog, you know that I take a yearly summer field trip with the kids to the butterfly museum. And every year I take pictures...I just can't help myself. I'm giving you a sneak peek photo. To see the rest, hop on over to my lollipop blog (the link is on the right).
This morning I sat outside on my patio, drinking my coffee, doing the crossword puzzle and watching the birds at the feeders. The temperature was divine with a slight breeze and the beighborhood was quiet beyond the bird calls. After such inspiration, I decided to show my butterfly pictures today. A couple of weeks ago, the kids and I went to a butterfly museum. We usually go once a year and as the kids get older, the trip gets little more enjoyable each time. This year they really enjoyed themselves and had all kinds of butterflies land on them. The trick I've decided is to wear a baseball cap - they seemed to love landing on the caps.
I love the fact that the butterflies let you get so close. I obviuosly had the zoom lens on as well but they really are right in front of your face when they land on the plants.
At around midnight last night, Meggie woke up with a bad stomachache. I won't regale you with the details but let's just say that the poor girl was sick the whole rest of the night. She was a trooper but very sick. So today is a tired day, for all of us. I don't have a card but because we want to think happy thoughts, I have a pretty picture. Last night I mentioned we had a crazy thunder storm, rain, a weird yellow sky and a pretty ending.
When we looked outside our door near the end of the storm, this is what we saw. This picture is actually taken by Meghan. She really wanted to get a good pic and her's was much better than mine!
So we're having happy, pretty thoughts for the rest of the day and hoping that all the sickies leave our house. Have a great night!
